Grabove, Ukraine. 07/17/14 Two hours after the crash of Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 between Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, firefighters seek the bodies of passengers. Using branches and white ribbons, they designate the location of the bodies they find. As the plane, which was carrying 298 passengers, flew miles above a combat zone in eastern Ukraine, it was shot down by a BUK surface-to-air missile fired by pro-Russian fighters. Malaysian Airlines flight MH17, flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, was shot down by a missile on July 17th 2014.
The plane, which was carrying 298 passengers, was flying miles above a combat zone in eastern Ukraine. Caught in a war that was not theirs, all the passengers and crew were killed.
Dutch prosecutors have opened an investigation into the crash for possible charges of murder and war crimes.
